Crowdfunding My YA Fantasy!

#### update!#####

We funded in TWO HOURS!! Now we're working on custom sprayed edges. We are so close to our stretch goals! We have color print, the prequel novella, the sprayed edges. The gorgeous hardbacks will all get foiled jackets! They are going to look amazing sitting on your shelf!

Not only that, but the book itself is epic! Love, betrayal, enemies, lovers, centuries-old conflict.

Okay, I hope to see you there!

I am trying something ridiculously scary and exciting all at the same time! I am launching my new pen name A. E. Zeigler in a Backerkit crowdfunding campaign

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is where people all come together to fund a certain project that might be too expensive for a creator to fund on their own--like a board game or a print run of really beautiful edition of their books--within a certain funding period.

Words to know in a crowdfunding campaign:

Creator: company or person who comes up with a project they want help funding

Campaign: is a project the creator would like to fund with the help of backers. This tells their story, about the project, the awards, the risks, the add-ons.

Funding Goal: is the amount the creator sets up at the beginning of the project. They hope to get this amount with the help of backers.  You pledge toward which tier interests you the most but you pay nothing unless the creator and backers reach the funding goal by the end of the campaign timeline.

Backers: friends, patrons, and interested buyers who support the creator's campaign by pledging money towards different award tiers.

Awards: creators come up with exciting award tiers that will entice backers to pledge financial support. These awards can be physical, digital, or intangible (like naming a character in a book).

Pledge: Each award tier has a pledge associated with an award level. As a backer, you can click a button to pledge to the campaign for the desired award tier. You don't have to pay the amount unless the creator's project meets their funding goal by the end of the campaign period.

Add-Ons: in addition to award tiers, backers can also add on extras listed in the add-on section. This is often merchandise and other fun things.

FAQs

What happens if the backers don't reach the creator's funding goal?

No money will be collected. No one gets awards. This is why it's important to invite others that you think might be interested in supporting the campaign to join in if you really want what the creator is selling.

What happens if you do reach the funding goal?

Money will be collected at the end of a funding period. The creator will keep in contact with the merchandise will be shipped out.

Are items guaranteed?

Nope. You are taking a risk pledging support. Crowdfunding is different in that you're supporting a creative endeavor. Sometimes the item doesn't turn out as imagined. Or other things happen. But most people deliver promised goods.

If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I'll address them!

What am I offering in my campaign?

Ebook digital bundles with maps, a deleted scene, and a playlist that inspired my book.

Paperback and ebook deals.

Case laminate and ebook deals.

And the first time ever, clothbound hardback with colored endpapers and an embedded satin ribbon in the head bands with foil and a jacket!!! I am beyond excited to see this in print! It's going to be gorgeous!

Also, you can buy a real life Stitchbinding belt.

Also as add-ons, I created a hard enamel pin, a digital art pack, and opportunities to get your story read and critiqued by me as well as a live Q&A call. I'm also planning some stretch goals and additional add-ons.

AAAAAAAND....if we fund within the first week, I'll send everyone a copy of the prequel novella of the tragic love story of Barathea and the Great Hunter.

So many awesome things to enjoy and extras to savor.
